Ourli

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-07-01

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ourli collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or continuing to use Ourli, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Scope and who we are

This Policy applies to the Ourli website, apps, and related services (the "Platform"), operated by Ourli ("Ourli," "we," "us"). It applies to families, helpers/providers, visitors, and anyone else who interacts with the Platform. It does not apply to third-party sites, apps, or services we link to or integrate with — those are governed by their own policies.

2. Information you give us

Account and profile data (name, email, phone, password, ZIP, photo, family or household details, children's first names and ages if you add them, provider bio, services, rates, availability, certifications, licensing, and background-check status you upload or authorize). Booking, scheduling, and messaging content. Reviews, ratings, referrals, feedback, and support requests. Payment and payout details submitted to our payments partner. Any other information you choose to share.

3. Information collected automatically

Device, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP or ZIP, pages viewed, features used, referring URLs, timestamps, crash logs, diagnostics, and interaction data. We use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, secure sessions, measure performance, and improve the product.

4. Information from third parties

Identity, background-check, and verification providers; payments and payout partners; email, SMS, and push delivery providers; analytics and error-monitoring tools; social sign-in providers you connect; and referrals or invitations submitted by other users. If you connect a third-party service, we receive the data that service shares with us.

5. How we use information

To create and secure accounts; match families with helpers; power search, recommendations, and scheduling; process payments, payouts, refunds, holds, and fees; send transactional messages, reminders, safety notices, and product updates; run trust, safety, verification, moderation, and fraud-prevention systems; personalize and improve the Platform; conduct analytics, research, and product development, including training and evaluating machine-learning and AI models used to operate the Platform; enforce our Terms; comply with law; and support customers.

6. Communications and marketing

By signing up you agree to receive service-related messages (transactional emails, SMS, push, and in-app notifications) that are necessary to operate your account. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time; you cannot opt out of essential transactional messages while you have an active account.

7. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where laws such as GDPR apply, we rely on: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Platform and preventing fraud, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

8. When we share information

With helpers/families you connect or transact with (the information needed for that interaction). With service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, storage, databases, analytics, error monitoring, communications, payments, identity and background checks, AI/ML infrastructure, customer support). With payments and payout partners as required to process transactions and meet regulatory obligations. With trust, safety, verification, insurance, and legal partners. With authorities, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect users or the public, enforce our Terms, or defend our rights. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. With your consent or at your direction. We do not sell your personal information for money. Certain analytics or advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" or "selling" under some state laws (e.g., California); you can opt out via in-app controls where offered.

9. Public and semi-public information

Provider profiles, service areas, rates, ratings, reviews, and other content you choose to publish are visible to families using the Platform and may appear in search results, previews, and shared links. Do not post information you want to keep private. Once shared with another user, we cannot control how they use or store it.

10. AI and automated processing

We use automated systems (including machine learning and AI) to match users, rank results, moderate content, detect fraud and safety issues, generate suggestions, and improve the Platform. These systems may use your content and activity as input. We do not use your data to train third-party foundation models except through service providers bound to keep it confidential and use it only to provide services to us.

11. Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary, functional, analytics, and (where enabled) advertising cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through in-app preferences. Blocking some cookies may break parts of the Platform.

12. Data retention

We keep information as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Platform, and as required to meet legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, safety, and fraud-prevention obligations. Some data — including transaction records, safety reports, moderation records, and backups — may be retained after account deletion for these purposes, and de-identified or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential, using strong passwords, and notifying us of any unauthorized access. Use of the Platform is at your own risk to the fullest extent allowed by law.

14. International transfers

We operate primarily in the United States. If you use the Platform from another country, you understand your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

15. Children

Ourli is for adults 18+. Families may include children's first names and ages in profiles they control; we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact support and we will take appropriate steps.

16. Your choices and rights

You can view or update most information in your account settings, opt out of marketing messages, adjust cookie preferences where offered, and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or to withdraw consent). We will honor valid requests as required by law; we may need to verify your identity and may decline requests that are unfounded, excessive, or that we are required or permitted to refuse.

17. Third-party links and integrations

The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party sites and services. We are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices. Review their policies before using them.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.

19. Disclaimer and limits

Nothing in this Policy creates any warranty, guarantee, or contractual right beyond what is stated in our Terms of Use. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ourli is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of the collection, use, storage, sharing, loss, or disclosure of information, and total liability is limited as set forth in our Terms of Use.

20. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, reach out through the in-app support link.

Children

Ourli is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to make an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Parents may add a child's first name and age to help plan care; that information is only shown to the helper working with that family, and you can remove it any time in your settings.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and data from inside Ourli — open the gear icon, then "Delete my account." If you can't sign in, ask us on the account deletion page. We remove your profile, photos, messages, saved lists and notification settings. We keep paid-invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
